HÉLÈNE ARJA

Hélène Arja is a Norwegian sculptor and spatial artist rooted in Oslo. Her practice represents works in the field of tactile arts with topics that discuss human relation to nature, place identities and cultural belonging.

Educated within the handcrafts of clay, wood, metal and color, she creates sculptures, installations, scenography and objects.

She holds a MA in Design from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, with a specialization in place identities, She also studied sociology at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and a BA in Journalism from Media University College in Kristiansand.

A red thread to all her work is her dedicated attention to visual research and place-specific culture.
